Sharon Low | Liu Guo Fei SWA is a British and Australian artist of Peranakan Chinese heritage. Her work has been exhibited in London at the Royal Academy of Arts, on Piccadilly; the Mall Galleries, on the Mall, next to the Institute of Contemporary Art, just off Trafalgar Square; and the Bankside Gallery (next to Tate Modern Gallery).

Based in London, Sharon Low is a fine artist specialising in printmaking, painting, mixed media and book arts, with a particular focus on children and families.

Fascinated by people, her work takes inspiration from family and friends: contemplating the idea that, as we age, life is written on our faces, our hands, and the way we hold ourselves, telling the stories of all the tragedies, happiness, laughter and tears.

Sharon Low is an member of the Society of Women Artists (SWA), the LOOP artists co-operative, as well as sometime member of the Lots Road Group, Chelsea Printmakers and the Portobello Artists Group.

Born in Sydney, Australia, Sharon studied fine art (painting and printmaking) at the National Art School and visual communication (design) at Sydney College of the Arts in Sydney, Australia.

Currently Sharon is a Graduate Student at The Courtauld Institute of Art, an internationally renowned centre for the teaching and research of art history, a major public gallery, and one of the Member Institutions of the University of London.

Other studies in the UK include the MA Visual Arts: Printmaking at the Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts, London (UAL), the Diploma in Portraiture from The Heatherley School of Fine Art, short courses in life painting and drawing at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College, London (UCL), bookbinding and artist books at the City Literary Institute and Morley College.

Prior to moving to London, Sharon Low was an artist, designer, illustrator, art and music teacher in Australia, where she also studied English literature and Education at the University of New England, and music education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Current work is in the fields of culture, society, identity and language, with a focus on family and cultural migration and diaspora.
